Julie-Ann Pike

I am married to my best friend and we have 5 wonderful children.

I love teaching Dance Moves!

I started dancing at the age of 3 and danced, with the exception of 1 year, till I was 18.  My teen years were spent training with Edmonton School of Ballet in their “Professional Program”.  During the ‘80s and ‘90s I admittedly fell in love with the Aerobic craze and loved the idea of instructing.

Unfortunately, while raising my kids I fell into the trap of not exercising and not taking care of myself.  I gained a lot of weight and thought that I’d never get my body back.  I decided at 35 I needed to make a change!  I started running and eating properly.   In 2006 I ran my first half marathon and marathon!  Since that time I have run many more Marathons and even some Ultra Marathons.  I now have my body back!

In  2008, the opportunity became available to me, to teach Dance Moves. Although I hadn’t danced in almost 20 years, I accepted, and I’m glad I did!  It’s a great way to cross train and it’s just plain FUN!!

I started teaching Dance Moves while still at home raising my little ones, and although I have gone back to work full time, I find that I can’t give it up!   Dancing is a great way to keep fit and I think Dance Moves is an all around complete body and mind workout.  I love how dancing makes me feel young, vibrant and fit!
